LACAC is a volunteer committee, appointed by local municipal council. Its role is to work to preserve the built and natural heritage features which have survived in Scarborough, and to ensure that alterations to designated structures are made in sympathy to, and understanding of, the structure's unique historical or architectural significance. LACAC members have a keen interest in preserving Scarborough's historic heritage for future generations.
