Scarborough Archives & Historical Collection
January 23 @ 7:00 pm
While the Society’s archives primarily contain paper records, documents and photographs relating to the history of the Scarborough, there are also many three dimensional artifacts that make up part of the “Historical Collection” and add to our knowledge of our community’s heritage. Some are unusual or rare, one-of-a kind objects, and others add to the story behind the paper records, photographs or the documents in our collection. Some objects are large and heavy, some ceramic, wooden, metal, glass or stone. In some cases they reflect on the life of the donor, others had a specific purpose no longer relevant in our modern society.
Since we can’t haul them to the program meeting, pictures will have to do. Please join us for a power-point presentation on the history behind many of the historic objects, their donor, and their relationship to Scarborough’s history.
Speaker: Rick Schofield, Archivist
